So exciting! XLGAMES Inc. and Mail.Ru Group have announced a signing of agreement to begin cooperation on bringing ArchAge to Russia. ArchAge is a Korean sandbox fantasy MMO developed by XLGames, with top-notch graphics and many uncommon features, such as player-owned ships that could be used for fighting and extensive crafting and gathering systems. Mail.Ru Group is one of the leading companies on Russian digital entertainment market. It is not clear as to when the release date might be set, but ArcheAge Russian promo site is already up and offering to sign-up for beta testing, and they’ve put a promo video on it too, which I included in the post (behing the cut). Just yesterday i made this post about Alicia 2.0 Frontier test with lots of screenshots and info, and here i am back with more stuff about Alicia 2.0 (앨리샤 2.0). I accidentally stumbled upon a great source of Alicia 2.0 info stashed on a great Korean gaming website GameMeca, and among other things, they wrote a preview for the new version of Alicia Online based on the Frontier test i mention above. The preview has lots of info and screenshots, and i did my best to translate it. It’s not a literal word-by-word translation, you see, as i had to use 3 different translation tools to get the best picture of what is it they’re writing about, but i’m positively sure i preserved most of the info. My own notes are in [brackets]. So, here it goes. (more…)
To all Alicia Online fans out there! I’ve been watching status of Alicia Online for a few years now – there was post in 2010 and later another one in 2011, when i asked Alicia devs if they are going to release Alicia Online in English. Sometime ago i wrote them again. I told them that there is a community of fans outside of Korea, and we’ve been hoping for an English release for quite some time. Is there any hope for us? Is there anything that we can do to help NTreev enter Western market? So, here’s their answer to my message. (more…)
I’m sure you know about this game already – it’s making quite a buzz around the Western Internets even without an official Western publisher. But, just in case: ArchAge is an upcoming Korean sandbox fantasy MMORPG by XLGAMES, a studio founded by Jake Song, who left NCsoft in 2003. Here i dug up some video from G*Star 2011 showing a lot about what ArchAge is promising to deliver once it’s released. Currently ArchAge is undergoing its 4th Closed Beta stage. Also, i haven’t been adding posts with “wishing on a star” tag for quite some time now – so, just to remind you, it’s for the games that i wish to be released in English.
Dragona Online: Philippines release – open beta started August 16, 2011 – English language available
The game a new self-developed title by Korean studio Liveplex and i wrote about Dragona Online it a while ago (the game is also known as Dragona Story Online). When i wrote that post there has been no indication of English version being in development, but, surprisingly, it looks like Philippines version of Dragona Online will be released in English! The game features its own unique “possession system” which allows game characters to transform into Dragons, and the game’s graphic engine is also very nicely done. As of August 16, 2011 Dragona Online open beta testing has started for Philippines version. Here’s Dragona Online PH official teaser trailer: (more…)

Tips&Tricks: How to prepare your system to run Alicia Online – Or What to do if Alicia Won’t work – Step-by-Step Walkthrough
This is a 3rd port in the series of detailed explanation of how to get your hands on Alicia Online. The first was on how to register an account for Alicia Online and then the second on how to download Alicia Online. Let’s assume you have already registered an account, downloaded and installed the game, now i will explain what you need to do in order to run it. If you’re going to do that win Windows 7 OS, you must either own an Ultimate or Enterprise version, because you will need to install Korean Language Pack. Other versions won’t let you install the language pack so Alicia won’t run. So far i haven’t heard of a successful attempt to run Alicia with Vistalizator or something like that, but i can’t verify that it’s 1000% impossible, because i own W7 Ultimate and can’t check for myself. If you were able to run Alicia under other versions of W7 OS, please let me know!
To all Alicia Online fans out there! I have been able to contact Alicia Online developers and asked them if there are any plans to bring Alicia Online to Western market and release an English version of the game. And i received an answer! There is a good news and a bad news for all of us. Read the rest of the post to learn more about what are the news about Alicia Online English release! Note that this post is never than the one previously called “current state of an English release” (i had to rename it in order for both posts to make sense). (more…)

And now, how do you go about downloading Alicia Online? (more…)

First of all, i’m not speaking about Alicia Online English release date, click the link to read what i know about it. Today’s news is that Alicia Online’s Korean release date is coming close, the pre-release Open Beta appears to be starting 10 February, 2010. Confirmed by Alicia Online twitter account and official website. Happy Koreans are having an Opening Party, it’s a total shame no one else can attend, but we can celebrate Korean release our own way! There are music video leaked out of the Korean Internets to YouTube featuring Alicia Online OST performed by Korean teenage diva IU. She’s Alicia Online “face” – being a very popular singer amongst the young adult audience, she was invited to record the game’s OST and do some promotional footage. As far as i can hear, she’s also actually not bad at doing the singing part! You can listen to Alicia Online OST for free legally and online on this official page, and here’s the music video (IU even plays the game in it): (more…)

Dragona Online / Dragona Story Online: A New Outstanding Korean Project We Might Yet To See In English
Dragona Online is a new upcoming fantasy MMORPG title self-developed by Korean studio Liveplex. The game was in development for 5 (five!) years and in the Eastern market it gets more and more popular with every passing day – the “main” Korean release isn’t even out yet and the game is already being translated for more releases in Japan, China and Thailand. The story takes place in a world created by Dragons and thus the game features Dragon Possession system that allows players to transform their bodies to have some Dragon-like properties. The game features beautiful graphics and those people who had been lucky to play in closed beta stages say it’s quite polished. The open beta starts January 20 (2011) at the official web-site here.
