The long-due post in a chain I began last year (wow, that sounds like really long ago!) and is finally going to get completed. This is translation of a preview of Alicia Online 2.0 aka 앨리샤 2.0 on a Korean gaming website GameMeca. The Part 1 you can read here, and there’s also another post about Alicia 2.0 Frontier test with lots of screenshots and info. The preview has lots of info and screenshots, and i did my best to translate it. It’s not a literal word-by-word translation, you see, as i had to use 3 different translation tools to get the best picture of what is it they’re writing about, but i’m positively sure i preserved most of the info. So, here it goes.

Just yesterday i made this post about Alicia 2.0 Frontier test with lots of screenshots and info, and here i am back with more stuff about Alicia 2.0 (앨리샤 2.0). I accidentally stumbled upon a great source of Alicia 2.0 info stashed on a great Korean gaming website GameMeca, and among other things, they wrote a preview for the new version of Alicia Online based on the Frontier test i mention above. The preview has lots of info and screenshots, and i did my best to translate it. It’s not a literal word-by-word translation, you see, as i had to use 3 different translation tools to get the best picture of what is it they’re writing about, but i’m positively sure i preserved most of the info. My own notes are in [brackets]. So, here it goes. (more…)
Prius Online is a free2play fantasy MMORPG previously released in Japanese and Chinese languages and that i was anticipating for long, and now is on the way to being released on English by GPotato. I must admit that i missed the biggest part of the beta due to my diving trip to Egypt, but i managed to spend a few days in Prius Online Closed Beta and here are my impressions on the game. It’s always hard to sum up your thought on a new game after you can’t get in anymore. Also, because i only spent a few days out of all time i probably saw much less stuff than anyone who were playing from the start, so i am not going into revealing any dramatic details or such. Just talking about what i saw and how i thought/felt about it. (more…)
After going Open Beta February 10, Alicia Online is getting more and more press and player attention right now. Korean web-portal BetaNews.net has posted a short article about Alicia Online (link is in Korean ;), which i’m posting here for you. It is really short but tells us about some gameplay details that were only hinted by Alicia Online screenshots before, so it’s worth reading. Also, I’m going to post more information like this later. A side note: rather than a direct translation of the said article this post is an exposition of what is said there. My Korean is currently revolving around an ability to decipher hieroglyphs into syllables, so i have to make an extensive use of a translation software – but with my experience of translation between other languages i can at least make out the whole point of the text, if not the exact wording. If anyone more fluent in Korean happens to stumble upon this post, I’d be grateful for any mistakes pointed out. (more…)
We all know what RIFT is about, don’t think i have to repeat it all over again. And today’s Closed Beta 5 is going online (at least, for me it’s “today”, around 18:00 or so). And considering a lack of new posts last week i thought I’d share my screenshots from Beta 4, so here they are: the Defiant races and lots and lots of Gloamwood – the second area that was available for Guardians during the beta – plus new mount, new stuff and a character, turned into a werewolf… Be careful, it’s a HUGE pile of screens! Also, if you haven’t seen previous batches of RIFT Beta screenshots, here are Part 1 and Part 2. And if you’re curious, how to buy RIFT: Planes of Telara in a specific currency, here is how.
I’ve stumbled across some new screenshots of Lime Odyssey just now, so i’m sharing them with you :) Lime Odyssey is an MMORPG developed by some members of the original Ragnarok Online development team, in Western market it is going to be published by Aeria Games. “The Sirius team has, for the last few years, poured their hearts and souls into the development of Lime Odyssey and the final result is a beautiful, well-balanced MMORPG, with a unique combination of rich role-playing features and robust gameplay. We expect it to be one of the best games of 2011.” says CEO of Aeria Games. I wrote about this game earlier here (more Lime Odyssey screenshots) and here (Lime Odyssey review based on Korean beta testers opinions). (more…)
Dragona Online / Dragona Story Online: A New Outstanding Korean Project We Might Yet To See In English
Dragona Online is a new upcoming fantasy MMORPG title self-developed by Korean studio Liveplex. The game was in development for 5 (five!) years and in the Eastern market it gets more and more popular with every passing day – the “main” Korean release isn’t even out yet and the game is already being translated for more releases in Japan, China and Thailand. The story takes place in a world created by Dragons and thus the game features Dragon Possession system that allows players to transform their bodies to have some Dragon-like properties. The game features beautiful graphics and those people who had been lucky to play in closed beta stages say it’s quite polished. The open beta starts January 20 (2011) at the official web-site here. This is the second batch of RIFT: Planes of Telara Closed Beta screenshots. Part 1 is here, in case you missed it. These screenshots are from RIFT’s Closed Beta 2, i.e. they’re for the Guardians part of the game. I’ll write a post about my RIFT experience somewhere not earlier than around Tuesday, because it’s Beta 4 now in progress and i’m going to screenshot it too. (more…)
Since RIFT: Planes of Telara Beta NDA was lifted by Trion, it’s safe for me to show you some RIFT closed beta screenshots. These screenshots are from Beta 2, which included the Guardians part of the game. I’ve made a shitload of screenshots, so i guess I’ll post them in parts. Btw, this is one of the loading screens you can see in Rift. It’s cool, isn’t it?
Upd.: fixed pic sizes – damn Picasa downsized them to 600*something, so i reuploaded them. Also, Part 2 with more screenshots is here.
I have seen a huge boost in incoming visitors after posting about Lime Odyssey being scheduled for release by Aeria Games. To tell the truth, I’ve totally missed out this game – had not played it in either closed or open beta, and barely even heard of it before Aeria came out of the shadows. So, I’ve done some digging around Korean and Japanese forums and blogs to make up for my unawareness, and here is an averaged out opinion of those who had played it during Korean beta testing phases, combined with my own opinion, based on videos, screenshots and available information. Consider it a preview, because, like, who else will tell us about it, other than beta-testers? Beta-testers do not lie (Square Enix is learning to understand that now). (more…)
Lime Odyssey: Aeria Games Reveals A New MMO Title Developed By Some Of The Ragnarok Online Team Members
What they say: “Aeria Games is excited to be working with Sirius Entertainment on the launch of Lime Odyssey,” said Lan Hoang, CEO of Aeria Games. “The Sirius team has, for the last few years, poured their hearts and souls into the development of Lime Odyssey and the final result is a beautiful, well-balanced MMORPG, with a unique combination of rich role-playing features and robust gameplay. We expect it to be one of the best games of 2011.” Underlined by me. Come on, robust gameplay and Aeria Games in the same paragraph?! They must be living in a parallel world where people still buy such blatant and lame advertising. Double /facepalm, indeed. Also, there are people from Ragnarok Online development team working on this title. Check the screenshots under the cut. (more…)
Ohmigod, this thing actually even has some kind of a gameplay there!
You can see the hilarious preview trailer here. I can tell it has a whole bunch of “social” animations like dances for two persons, hugs, etc. Feels like Perfect World have a chance to begin getting nervous.
I mean, PW used at some point its own social animations (two character on one horse, one character holds another, etc.) animations as a selling point, especially for Russian release.
Lucent Heart is a “fantasy dating mmorpg” and, obviously, highly inspired by manga/anime. I assume, “dating features” of this game is targeted at eastern audience (as it’s already quite popular in Asia), but what would come out of releasing it for western world, that is a mystery to me. Besides dating Lucent Heart provides standard mmo features like classes, quests, raids, etc. No beta date is provided yet, but the game is supposed to be released during the 2010 holiday season.
In this new video Yannis Brown (Audio Director) and Inon Zur (Composer) talk about the process of creating Rift: Planes of Telara soundtrack score and discuss how the direction of their creative process was inspired by the game’s world.
Rift: Planes of Telara (formerly Heroes of Telara) is a fantasy MMORPG by Trion Worlds (also known as Trion World Network). It’s set in a world that is constantly torn by dimensional rifts, which are playing important role in the game’s dynamic events system (an unique one for this game). Using this system both developers and players of the game can trigger key events that would significantly influence the game’s world – from small events to a scale where the game’s landscape itself would be altered or a new area opened.
No release date has been given yet, but the game is estimated to be released somewhere in 2011.
I finally got to see it (the trailer was released by MMOHut over YouTube a day before yesterday). I must say, after watching this trailer i felt a bit like someone had shot my brain out or i just have seen some sort of a mind-killing anime. Thanks god i’m a not a guy, or i would have felt like a pedophile instead. (more…)
Some people claim it’s hard to understand what the developers are saying, but either my English is better than those people’s, or it’s because English is my second language. Either way, if you have problems – just repeat the movie. I’m looking forward to Naridim, don’t know what comes of it in the end, but at least it has an uncommon and fresh lore.
