Rift: Planes Of Telara – Closed Beta Screenshots – Part 1

Since RIFT: Planes of Telara Beta NDA was lifted by Trion, it’s safe for me to show you some RIFT closed beta screenshots. These screenshots are from Beta 2, which included the Guardians part of the game. I’ve made a shitload of screenshots, so i guess I’ll post them in parts. Btw, this is one of the loading screens you can see in Rift. It’s cool, isn’t it?
Upd.: fixed pic sizes – damn Picasa downsized them to 600*something, so i reuploaded them. Also, Part 2 with more screenshots is here.

Divine Souls: Are Beta Bugs Driving You Crazy too?

Divine Souls: Are Beta Bugs Driving You Crazy too? When i wrote a post Divine Souls Review: Open Beta First Impression, i said, that this game has design problems and bugs, and if GamePrix won’t screw it even more than as it is now, who knows, maybe it could turn out to be a nice game after all? Well, so far it couldn’t. I was tired of constant bug infestation and dropped it. GamePrix, obviously, sees constant drop in active accounts number and sends everyone a message like “hey, you’ve asked for it, and we made the game better!” – come back, we’re all white and fluffy! I came back, just in case. Was anything working better? Not a single thing. And i see increasing number of search inquiries about Divine Souls bug and crashes. Guys! Listen up here! It’s BUGGED LIKE HELL! (more…)

Divine Souls Review: Open Beta First Impression

Divine Souls Review: Open Beta First ImpressionDivine Souls is a free-to-play fantasy action MMO developed by Korean team GamePrix and released be Outspark, which is currently undergoing an open beta stage. And this game is some really rare weird shit, i must tell you! Their current slogan is “your console will be jealous” and that is really true, because Divine Souls is a console action made into an MMO and released on PC. I can only guess what weird stuff they were high on that made them release a game made for consoles on PC, instead of Xbox or PS3, and why they made it into an MMO in the first place. So, this game gave me a really mixed feeling… Being a console-style has both its pluses and minuses, so here’s my first impression on this game, if you’re interested. Upd.: if you came searching for Divine Souls bugs, read Divine Souls: Are Beta Bugs Driving You Crazy too? post here. (more…)

Divine Souls Is Going Open Beta December 14!

Divine Souls Is Going Open Beta December 14!Divine Souls is a free-to-play Action-Fighting MMORPG developed by GamePrix and published by Outspark, that is said to “make your console jealous”. Game’s background story is build up on a mixture of fantasy with a light addition of science fiction (mages travelling on spaceships, that sort of thing), so the world seems to be at least different comparing to those average MMOs we got around. Looking at the game footage, Divine Souls is supposed to be offering rich console-like action that is also hard to be found in average MMO, plus it would be possible to play with gamepad – ??? – don’t know how it turns out, but i want to check it out! Divine Souls open beta starts in just 4 days – December 14, so don’t miss it. See the game’s screenshots and video under the cut. (more…)

Cities XL: Online Game Surviving In Offline World

Cities XL: Online Game Surviving In Offline WorldCities XL 2011 (my MonteCristo) is out and already selling on Steam Store, I’ve got myself a 50%-off copy and then i thought: wait there, this is an interesting example for my blog! The thing is, that Cities XL was released back in 2009 as the first online city building game. The easiest way ever to describe this game is to say “it’s like SimCity, just online” – which isn’t a very detailed description, indeed. Also, this is one of the first examples of how a game can combine offline gameplay with an MMO part (yes, i do remember about Conan – that’s why i said “ONE of the first examples”). The game’s success is somewhat doubtful, because it worked in online mode for only half a year, but they released 2011 version, which indicates that the game sold well enough to continue it. So, how did it worked? (more…)

Rift: Planes of Telara: Beta Keys Giveaway At Curse!

Rift: Planes of Telara: Beta Keys Giveaway At Curse!Rift: Planes of Telara is a fantasy MMORPG by Trion Worlds, set in a world that is constantly torn by dimensional rifts, which are playing important role in the game’s unique dynamic events system. Dreamland Online: Alpha Test Keys Giveaway

Dreamland Online: Alpha Test Keys GiveawayDreamland Online is a free to play PVP fantasy MMORPG made by IGG and is going to be released sometime in 2010. The game’s client is only 300mb large, so the graphics at best look like it’s made on flash, but that is compensated (up to a point) by the bright, colorful cartoonish style of the visuals (see the gameplay video under “read more”). The selling point of Dreamland Online is that it has an elaborate pet system, which should allow pets to assist players with quests and PVP. If you’re into that kind of games, good news for you: less than 10 hours ago began the game’s alpha test key giveaway and you can grab a key on a number of MMO sites, like here for example.

Legendary Champions Review: First And Worst Impression

Legendary Champions Review: First And Worst ImpressionLegendary Champions is a “free to play” Chinese-style fantasy mmorpg by USERJOY Technology / Aeria Games. I had no time to check this game in its closed beta stage, but after reading some positive things about it i thought it is worth checking its open beta after all. Every LC ad out there states that it “stands out from the crowd by offering players unique 5v5 PvP gameplay reminiscent of the super-popular Warcraft III mod Defense of the Ancients or DotA. As players take part in these DotA style matches they can choose from a wide variety of heroes to transform into, heroes that span entirely different eras and time periods, such as Dracula or even King Arthur.” Don’t believe it. There’s nothing close to DotA there, and while i usually spent a lot more time on each game, this one made me want to uninstall it after a few hours at best. (more…)

Age of Conan: When developers forget they ain’t selling you a marketing strategy

This is what i saw when i took my turn at the Age of Conan new addon testing event:

Mortal Online – is it a good game?

You have probably heard of it recently.
Mortal Online by Star Vault, a first-person fantasy mmorpg, with full pvp and unique real-time AND mounted combat. It’s classless and skill-driven, plus most of the items could be crafted by the players themselves, so not only should it be a cool place for a pvp lover, but also a crafter’s heaven. And here comes the big hairy “but” – it doesn’t have a trial or buddy key, you need to spent $50 to see for yourself if it’s any good. (more…)
