Beautiful maps of game worlds that you’ll never forget – Part 2
I’m sure everyone who had ever played any games has a favourite one, and I’m sure as hell it has a map of its world. Perhaps, you even have a favourite map of a game world? My personal favourite is The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind map, because it’s one of those maps which had a physical copy, and it’s the one and only paper map I ever had. So there: many games has so very awesome maps, they are simply worth sharing and checking out, and even if you did see them already, aren’t they worth looking at again? I found such a heap of awesome maps of game worlds that I had to divide them into parts, Part 1 can be read here.
My favourite map from The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind.
Be careful when clicking on it, it’s a scan of the paper map and it’s quite large!
Another of my personal favourites – map from PS2 title Shadow of the Colossus. When you begin playing, the map is covered by clouds, which are lifted along with player’s progress.
Might and Magic series has some awesome maps, these are from M&M IV and V. These games also had an unique feature to be connected when installed together, so you could travel between locations of both games at any time.
As long as I’m at old games, Betrayal at Krondor had a cool map too:
Myth series (there were several strategy games in it) had a map looking like it was made for a book:
Can’t forget beautifully drawn zone maps from Baten Kaitos:
Less beautiful but still cute map from Wonder Project:
Pokemon Platinum had a nice map too:
Featured image of this post, a map from Dragon Age:
And from the first part of Fable:
Now, for something different, Star Control II map – each star in it had planets, and you could colonize them all:
And this actually doesn’t looks like a map, but it is, from Pathologic:
Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen map:
And let’s finish this batch with a map of a game that had only physical map sold with it, but no map inside of the game, because it had no graphics at all – and this game is first part of Zork series:
So, there they are, another 15 cool maps of game world, but I find myself with about the same amount of maps, and this post is already getting heavy on images, so I guess I’ll have to post the Part 3 next week. Stay tuned!
