Prius Online / Anima Online – Emotional MMORPG

Prius Online / Anima Online - Emotional MMORPGPrius Online (also known as Anima Online) by CJ Internet is the first “emotional mmo” out there. They called it emotional because the standard pet system we have in every game out there had received a tremendous boost here, so you don’t just own a pet, you must raise it and take care. And instead of some animal pet you have a girl called Anima, with her own needs and something that we can count as basic personality (in long-term your actions form her character – she will respond according to how you treat her). It’s already released for Japan and Taiwan, and is currently being translated to English. The game has a beautiful graphics (look behind the cut for the screenshots and gameplay video) and very interesting gameplay.

I played the Chinese beta, and i can totally assure you that the gameplay is awesome! Here are some screenshots from the character creation screen. The last one is what you see when it lets you into the game itself.

And here is the gameplay video. I did not made it, but I had the same race and class on Taiwan server, so this video is pretty much what i have seen – except for the interface’s language, of course, because the video is from Japanese version. That was the hardest part of playing Prius Online, actually, because i understand some Japanese, but don’t know Chinese at all. So i don’t know what are the game’s quests about, but i’m very eager to play it on English even if it means dealing with GPotato (you can imagine how cool must the game be for me to say I’ll deal with GPotato just to play it!).

I also want to mention that, somehow, the female characters in this game – and some of them are, well, have not much clothes on – doesn’t look, erm.. ah, the hell with it! – they do not look slutty. Lineage2 females do. At least, i think so. And Prius Online females doesn’t. They look more like, i don’t know, wearing a native costume because it suits them best, and not because the designers wanted to make a bail for teenage boys.
On the other hand, this is the first game where you can have a pet loli – it doesn’t need any kinds of bails besides that, hehe.
